Review of Minutes
Officer Nominations – positions are still open for next year.
Jessica Deangelis popped in for a moment and regretted she would be unable to fill the president position for next year. Erika Lopez will be our new secretary.
Names of the new board will need to be sent in to WAPTA by May 1.
Budget Update- All good Lynae reported.
Family Reading/Reflections Night
Free PTSA sponsored dinner will start at 5:00 pm.
Family Reading Activities will start at 6:00 pm.
With the grant money from TYFTSW - Take Your Family To School Week sponsored by the Akon foundation the following items were purchased: 2 boxes of pencils engraved; Glitter notebooks; labels; books; maroon bags for students to care all their learning supplies in; dinner supplies to include – ham, turkey, salad, salad dressing; pie; plates; milk and juice. Potatoes were donated.
Families will be looking for clues throughout the hallways and classrooms. A $30.00 gift certificate will be given to the classroom/s that won for the best Geronimo Stilton Decorated Door.
Prizes will be given out to the winning categories/grade for the Reflections Art contest entries. The winning entries after the show will be on display at the Timberland Bank for one month.
Spring Talent Show
Nanette Craft would like to chair a Spring Talent Show for all who students/staff who would like to participate.
It will be held May 22, at 1:15 in the elementary gym.
Everyone must audition first; dance, sing, play an instrument, or are entertaining.
She has asked that proper and creative dress attire be encouraged.
She will be having tryouts on Fridays in March from 8:00-8:25 in the Band Room on 3/13, 3/20/3/27.
In April on Fridays on 4/3,4/17, and 4/24 from 8:00-8:25.
PTSA has set aside a budget.
It was commented that T-Shirts may be a good idea… and Dargie commented Michaels has them on sale for $2.00 right now. It was also mentioned that these t-shirts go on sale regularly. Marilynn suggested getting pencils to hand out to students who have entered the talent show. It was also suggested that ribbons be gotten for contestant entries. It was suggested that Nanette contact Umpqua bank to see if they would cover the cost of the ribbons after the cost information is sent to Nanette from Dargie.
School Funds Request
PTSA will first contact the district office to see if all of their class monies have been spent before the decision is made to confirm our ability to fund the request. PTSA will make a decision based on the whole and how it will benefit all or as many students as possible.
Reading and Math Night Committees
Tori suggested Mrs. Beegle would love to help out with Reading Night.
Tori also suggested Mr. ALexy for Math night.
Stuff the Bus Committee
The organization of the school supplies after the Stuff the Bus event will need to be organized as Lori Faris will be unable to do it while school is in session.
Lynae brought up the subject of Mindcraft Servers brought in received from Mr. Tauscher.
PTSA discussed this at the beginning of the year. We explained we were unable to do it, since it is a club.
It was suggested he take it to Horrace Mann the insurance salesman.
Tori Nelson will email Mr. Tauscher with the information.
Tori Nelson said she received her grant from Target.
Marilynn suggested The Capitol and the Hands on Museum would be free because we are a title 1 school.
Tables had been ordered for the library. Mrs. Sokol was very surprised and very excited and happy.
